Welcome to the website of Mackay Athletics Club Inc.

Our club offers members the benefits of Athletics North Queensland (ANQ) Membership.  ANQ is the major regional provider of athletics, development and competition and supports all ages from 4 to 99.

 

Our Club facilities are located at the Mackay State High School Sports Grounds via English Street, Mackay.  Club Competition Days are held Saturday afternoons from March to September.

 

 

NEWS IN BRIEF  (Updated 8 July 2010)

 

· McDonalds Mackay Community Program.  Our club has received a 3m x 3m McDonalds Shade Marque after a successful application was submitted to them.  This will help further provide shade for our members.  Many thanks to the local McDonalds team.

 

 

 

· Club Successful in Grant Funding Application.  Our club has been successful in its application in round 63 of the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.  Just over $5,300.00 will be used to purchase a new PA System, Megaphone, Laptop, Printer, File Cabinet, First Aid Kit, and 10 UHF CB’s. 

  

· Wet Weather Phone Number.  Due to the nature of Athletics being held outdoors, for the safety of all athletes it may be necessary to cancel events or club competition days due to the wet grounds.  Cancellation notices are usually published on the home page of this website on the day of competition or you can call 0431 973 129 after 10am on the day of competition for information.

 

· 2010 Member Application Form.  The new form allows you to complete the details on your computer and then print it for signing and submission.  Download the form from our Forms, Policies and Downloads page.   

 

· Code Of Conduct Policy.  This Code of Behaviour is intended to be the minimum standard for anyone involved in sport.  Download it now and please take the time to read it.  A full comprehensive policy is part of the Member Protection Policy which can be accessed on our Forms, Polices and Downloads page.

$2.00 Registration Fee per Athlete.

 

Medallions for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place both Male & Female for age groups 5 & Under, 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,Senior.  Participation ribbons available.

 

Registrations from 11am to 12pm.  Warm up 12pm.  Events Start 12.40pm

2010 WHITSUNDAY ATHLETICS CLUB PENTATHLON

Saturday 14 August 2010 from 9am

Our club is supporting this event and will not hold a club competition that day.  Instead we ask member families to consider travelling to the Proserpine State High School and support this event.  The athlete entry fee is only $15.00 for the day.  As it is not that far to travel, it is a great way for the kids to experience a sports carnival atmosphere and compete against other people from other clubs.  Club participation points and PB points can be earned on the day.

NOTE: CLUB UNIFORM MUST BE WORN.  NEW STOCKS HAVE ARRIVED.
