This track training is for Mackay Athletics Club members only.
For running, with our qualified running coach - new and younger runners are welcomed on Tuesdays at 4.30pm to 5.15pm. Registrations will be required. https://www.mackayathletics.com.au/events/221979
Things you need to bring: hat, sandshoes, and water bottle. Uniform not required for training sessions, just comfortable sporting attire.
Parents are required to stay within the complex during the training session.
Our meeting point is at the big green sheds on the other side of the track.
We train when it is raining and also when it is hot so, please bring a towel on those days and drink plenty of water.
Training will be from late February till mid-September. There will be no training during the public or school holidays.
When coach is away with her older athlete’s sessions may not go ahead. As a club we are aiming to have a committee member/volunteer present to help out during these busy times. Please keep an eye out of Facebook for any changes that may occur.
As a general rule, if you are already coached by someone, it is best practice to discuss this with him/her. As coaches our code of conduct through Athletics Australia states we support our athletes to talk to any coach they wish without any repercussions. However, over training is a real thing and we don’t want any injuries to happen with any of our athletes. Communication is key.
